Matthew grew up immersed in the auto repair industry. His family’s automotive roots date back to his great-great-grandfather, who operated one of the very first auto repair shops in Queens, New York. That commitment to craftsmanship was passed down through the generations to Matthew’s father, who owned and managed multiple repair shops. 

Being in and around those shops from early childhood gave Matthew a natural hands-on education. His father taught him the fundamentals, starting with routine oil changes and maintenance work, sparking a drive to master every aspect of the trade. Owning his own shop was a dream Matthew held from an early age, allowing him to carry forward a proud family legacy of mechanical excellence.

Matthew understands that automotive problems can be stressful and confusing. To build lasting trust, he takes the time to explain every repair in clear, straightforward terms. If a customer needs extra clarity, Matthew provides visual demonstrations or detailed technical explanations so they feel completely confident in their decisions.

Matthew’s passion for performance vehicles extends well beyond daily shop operations. Born and raised in Gainesville, he is a dedicated car enthusiast who spends his free time building and tuning muscle cars. He is even the proud owner of his very first car, a 1999 Pontiac Trans Am, which he still keeps and maintains today.

That sense of continuity extends to the shop floor, where many team members share close family ties. Deeply committed to supporting the local area, Matthew and the TAW Automotive team actively participate in community initiatives through organizations like Gainesville Family Promise, United Way, and the local Chamber of Commerce.
